Electronic control unit sensors

There are a number of sensors on the engine which give signals to the electronic control unit.

They are as follows:

1. Flywheel housing
This sensor receives a signal from notches in the flywheel that indicate the position and speed of the crankshaft.
2. Engine timing gears
This sensor receives a signal from the pole wheel that is bolted to the camshaft drive gear, that indicates which
cylinder is in line for injection.
3. Intake manifold
There are two sensors on the intake manifold that transmit the following information:
A = Sensor for charge air temperature

B = Sensor for charge air pressure

4. Cylinder head
This sensor receives a signal which indicates coolant temperature.
