ACKNOWLEDGMENT

” In everything give thanks with the prayer and supplication give praise unto

the Lord. In everything you do, do put God first and He will direct your

path.”

When God works, nothing is impossible. He uses individuals to become a

part of one’s life and be a channel of blessing. Thus, the reason behind a

researcher is thankful to God for He is always at their side throughout the

study.

Likewise, God uses different people to be a part of this undertaking. Thus,

the researchers would like to extend thanks to the following:

Dr. Agaton P. Pattalitan Jr., their dean, for sharing his knowledge;

Mrs. Ma. Olivia Isabella Bautista, their adviser, for her endless guidance and

encouragement to finish this research work;

Dr. Ma. Theresa B. Valerio, their thesis adviser, for supervising the conduct

of this research;

Dr. Denson L. Liday, MAT. for his unending support in checking this paper.

They are very thankful for allowing them to use the laboratory in the College

of Nutrition and Dietetics. He was the inspiration of the researchers in

overcoming technical problems during the conduct of this study;

Their parents and families for their understanding and provisions. They

provided their needs and inspired them to exert more effort to finish this

paper, and to all the uncountable and not written in this writ but

contributed in this paper, to all of you, God bless you more.

ABSTRACT

Ficus Nota, which belongs to family Moracea, has been use because of

its medicinal value. This research study was conducted to explore its

potential applications in health spectrum to be part of this endeavor. This

experimental research underwent two procedures which were the

preliminary processing of the sample and the biochemical profiling. The

result of the study shows that the alcoholic crude extract of Ficus nota

contained high phenolic content with identification of essential oil and

alkaloids. This means that it has antioxidant property. Therefore, production

of alcoholic beverage and bactericidal alcohol are the potential application

based on the results of the study.

Keywords: Ficus Nota, Phenolic compound, Biochemical Profile, Antimicrobial,
