Syllabus
Description: This practical course aims at introducing a selection of the most important topics in terms of physical
education and sports field of studying. The focus is on helping students use and practice specific structures, which
means that we propose to solve practical issues, searching for an answer to some relevant topics. One important goal is to
provide a better understanding of the English specialized language, but also to help our students improve and enrich
their vocabulary in their field of studying, physical education and sports.
Objectives:
to enhance the receptive (listening and reading) and productive skills (speaking and writing);
to use and practice English in specific academic and professional contexts;
to enrich students’ vocabulary in fields related to their academic knowledge.

WEEK 5 (18.12.2022): Unit 5: Nutrition – part I
Vocabulary: Sports nutrition terminology. Names of nutrients and types of diets.
Unit 5: Nutrition – part II
EAP: The physiological description (digestion, breathing, blood circulation).
Grammar: The Present Tense Simple in scientific writing.
