An unfortunate tragedy happened to a Year 5 pupil, Haziq bin Ramli

yesterday. His family’s house was on fire and the calamity left them
with nothing. The School Prefect Board is organizing a donation drive
to help Haziq and his family. Donation forms will be distributed to all
classes so that you can extend them to your parents too. In-kind
contributions are also accepted. Money contributions should be
submitted to your respective class teachers while in-kind contributions
can be sent to the prefect room. Contributions should be submitted
before 15 August 2022 and the headmaster will pass them to Haziq’s
family the next day.

The Squash Queen

Dato’ Nicol David was born on 26 August1983 in Penang. She is a Malaysian squash player
who has dominated the sport in the early 21st century and became the first to win eight World
Open crowns. Her interest in squash started at the age of five. At the age of 13 years old, she
reached the quarterfinals of the World Junior Squash Championships and two years later the
young Dato’ Nicol David became the youngest woman to win the World Junior Championship.

Dato’ Nicol David received international attention following her success in 2005 and in
January 2006 she was officially ranked the number one female player in the world, a status
never before been held by an Asian woman. Her second consecutive World Open title in 2006
witnessed her achievements in six championships. She excelled further in 2007, securing seven
more titles and another World Open crown.

With her stunning accomplishments, Dato’ Nicol David was inaugurated into the World
Squash Federation Hall of Fame and declared her as the 12th “legend” of the sport. In 2019,
Dato’ Nicol David announced her retirement in the squash sport. She was crowned as the World
Games Greatest Athlete of All Time in 2021 by receiving a total of 318,943 votes and being the
only Malaysian and Asian athlete among 24 candidates.

Cameron Highlands in Pahang is one of Malaysia's most popular
