1. How can Filipino values such as “utang na loob” affect hiring decisions? 10 points.
- “Utang na loob” is someone who ask you a favor, you must able to return that favor
in an appropriate manner. For example, in a situation if you have a friend who is
working in a private company, she asks you a favor to lend her some money because
she is having a shortage in her expenses and you gave her some money. In the
future, now that you are having some trouble to apply in a certain company, the
company that you chose unexpectedly the employer is the one you help in the past
which is, she had a debt of gratitude. Hence, you can ask a favor to repay you,
through that she will able to hire you and that is called “utang na loob”.
2. Why are Bahala Na and Mañana habits considered harmful to business? What can you
suggests avoiding these habits among employees?
- I agree, that we experienced these kinds of habits. Which is, it can lead a lot of
negative effects on people, it also considered harmful to businesses because in
doing such bad habits as these could lead into an individual being less efficient
resulting in their works to pile up and could also waste time, it also the reason why
they are less productive at work wherein, it can cause to your company to miss a lot
of opportunities. In order to avoid these habits, I suggest that a person need to learn
or to explore and discover new things that can motivate you to be productive.
