Unting - Components of Window Type Aircon-Inverter - Final Module
II. Introduction
A window type air-conditioner inverter is an appliance that cools and heats a room by
removing heat from the air. It consists of several components, each of which plays a
vital role in the overall operation of the unit. The main components of a window type
air-conditioner inverter include:
Compressor: The compressor is the heart of the air conditioner and is responsible for
compressing refrigerant gas into a liquid.

Window type air conditioner
A window type air conditioner-inverter is an appliance that cools and heats a room by
removing heat from the air. It consists of several components, each of which plays a vital role
in the overall operation of the unit.
1. The Compressor
The compressor is the heart of the air conditioner and is responsible for compressing
refrigerant gas into a liquid. The reason is that the liquid refrigerant is more efficient at
absorbing heat than the refrigerant gas is. The compressor is also responsible for circulating
the refrigerant around the system.
The evaporator coil is located inside the unit and is responsible for absorbing heat from the
air. As the refrigerant passes through the evaporator coil, it evaporates into a gas and absorbs
heat from the air. The air is then cooled and circulated back into the room.
The condenser coil is located outside the unit and is responsible for releasing heat to the
outside air. As the refrigerant gas passes through the condenser coil, it condenses back into a
liquid and releases heat to the outside air. The liquid refrigerant is then pumped back to the
evaporator coil to start the cycle again.
The expansion valve is responsible for regulating the flow of refrigerant through the system.
It controls the amount of refrigerant that is allowed to enter the evaporator coil. This is
important because too much refrigerant can cause the evaporator coil to freeze, and too little
refrigerant can make the air conditioner inefficient.
5. The Blower

Blower in a window type air conditioner
The blower is responsible for circulating air through the evaporator coil and condenser coil.
This helps to ensure that the air is evenly cooled and heated throughout the room.
6. The Filter
The filter is responsible for removing dust and other debris from the air. This helps to protect
the internal components of the air conditioner and also helps to improve the quality of the air.
7. The Thermostat
The control panel is responsible for controlling the various functions of the air conditioner,
such as the temperature, fan speed, and timer.
These components work together to provide a comfortable and controlled environment for the
user.
Here is a diagram that illustrates the basic refrigeration cycle of a window type air
conditioner-inverter:
As you can see, the refrigeration cycle is a closed loop in which the refrigerant is constantly
changing from a liquid to a gas and back again. This process is what allows the air
conditioner to absorb heat from the air and release it to the outside air.
The inverter technology in a window type air conditioner-inverter allows the compressor to
run at a variable speed. This means that the air conditioner can more precisely control the
temperature of the room and also use less energy.
