PROJECT PROPOSAL
I. Identifying Information
Project Title: SHIELD – Students in Holistic Implementation of English Language
Development
Project Site: Mamagum Integrated School
Project Proponent: Calixto O. Candole Jr.
II. Rationale:
English language is one of the most important tools in communication. The
ability to use English language is necessary to student's learning, including their
development of broader literacy skills, and to their future successful participation in
society, including the workforce.
Profoundly consider that learners will be communicatively competent if they
are taught holistically in four macro skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The Mamagum Integrated School in the SND West district designed and
implemented a year-round SHIELD Program aligned to RISE Program, an initiative of
the Division.
Project SHIELD (Students in Holistic Implementation of English Language
Development) is designed to ensure that the inputs provided to the students and
teachers are contributory towards the achievement of the goals.
III. Participants: Mamagum Integrated School teachers
IV. Objectives:
This project aims to:
a. Develop the learners’ communicative competence through teaching the
macro skills; reading, writing, speaking and listening.
b. Keep updated on the content and pedagogy in English.
c. To strengthen the conduct of English activities in school.
