Pictured on the cover: The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge connects Charleston and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina in record-setting fashion. At 464 meters (1,522 feet) the cable-stayed main span is the longest in North and South America. With approach bridges, the total length is 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). By combining building knowhow from two continents, we were able to complete this project a year ahead of schedule.

The distinctive, billowing glass roof of Zote Tarasy in Warsaw, Poland is comprised of 4,750 panels and covers more than 200 shops and about 20 cafes and restaurants. Constructed by Skanska for the developer ING Real Estate, the shopping center portion of this elegant retail and ofce complex opened in February 2007.

Phase 1 32 weeks in your home business unit. Your future begins. Youll be immersed in understanding your local Skanska business unit, inside and out. Phase 2 20 weeks abroad. Passport ready? Your rst on-the-job experience will allow you to learn how another business unit operates by working in an international environment. Phase 3 12 weeks in your home business unit. Welcome home. The training youll receive now will provide deeper insights into understanding more strategic aspects of our business. Phase 4 3 weeks abroad. Pack your toothbrush again. An assignment specically suited to your strengths is identied so you can apply the skills youve developed. 11 weeks training abroad Youll get training in four areas between the phases Skanska Knowledge, Leadership, Project Management and Professional Development. And this is only the beginning. Your development and training will continue to last throughout your career.

Im proud to have worked on the Lakeside Village project in Lakeland, Florida. This project has become a cornerstone for the development of the community. I was on a trip with local municipal ofcials after it was completed and someone asked if anyone had visited the facility. I stood up and said I built it!

Currently under construction, Skanska is one of the leading companies in a joint-venture that has been contracted to build the World Trade Center Transportation Hub for commuter rail trafc in New York City. When completed in 2009, a total of 13 rail and subway lines will converge here.
