note: in general to Bidong Island does not have logistics facilities. This is a competition for the conservation and to display the beauty of the island that is clean from any development. Each participant will be camping or staying at UMT Research Centre. Organizer only provides transportation and endowment that must be shared along with F&B. Participants must bring their own facilities, including tents, scuba equipment and other personal needs. This is a rare experience for UMT Research Centre to open for public. Only those who are hardy and strong spirit are encouraged to participate.

1. Participation

Copyright, Rules and Regulations

Open to all Malaysians and Foreign visitors. Members of the organizing committee and their immediate family members from Coral Malaysia, Ministry of Tourism, Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu & UMT are not allowed to participate in this competition. All the photographs must be taken at Bidong Island or Offshore coast of Terengganu to Merang

Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties. No digital super imposition/composition is allowed. However, HDR photography is permitted. Minor image touch-up is allowed and these include adjustment of brightness of colour and softening or sharpening of the image. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Participants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it The organizing committee reserves the right to amend, delete or add to the above Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. In the events of discrepancy, the English version of the Rules and Regulations will prevail.

Contestants can send in minimum 20 best picture All entries must be submitted on the final day of the events. Also to our drop box at UMT before Wed 25th April (only for university staffs and students only.) The size of the image shall be no smaller than 3MB and in 300dpi. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. - All pictures be accompanied by caption (Location / dive site , Subject / Name of marine life) - All camera must disable the date display on the pictures.

2. Assessment
The judging of this competition will be based on content, composition, quality, technique and creativity. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entertained. Winners will be notified by telephone or via email. Prizes must be collected personally. Prize not collected within given time and date will be forfeited. Top 5 and merits prize winners will be notified to attend prize giving ceremony. The cost of travelling will be borne by the winners By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to allow his/her name or photographs to be published on Coral Malaysia websites and other media like newspapers, magazines, newsletter and other related medium.

3. Ownership
Copyright of all images submitted for this competition shall remain with the respective participants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each participant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual license to Ministry of Tourism, Coral Malaysia and Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition within that time period. The owners of winning photographs shall grant the copyright of their winning pictures to Ministry of Tourism, Coral Malaysia and Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu. All photographs for the competition will not be returned and shall remain the property of Ministry of Tourism, Coral Malaysia and Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu. Ministry of Tourism, Coral Malaysia and Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu shall be allowed to keep, exhibit and make copies of all photographs without prior consent or payment to participant for commercial / non commercial usage. By participating in this, participants agree to be bound by these rules and regulations as well as the decisions made by Ministry of Tourism, Coral Malaysia, Kerajaan Negeri Terengganu, UMT and the panel of judges.
