During the production of my student magazines front cover I

included standard conventions that are expect in every
magazine, for example a large masthead which is positioned at
the top of the cover, having the main image cover the mast
head slightly. I also included a barcode in one of the bottom
corners of the front cover. Another convention I used was direct
address from the model in the main image, I decided to use
this convention as I agree that it helps the audience to connect
and interact with the magazine. Conventions that I went
against included anchored page numbers on the front cover as
I decided to include these in the contents page.
I also
challenged the convention of having a medium close up shot
for my main image and I went with a medium shot as I wanted
a visible background of the college grounds as this is a student
magazine based on the college.

During the production of my student magazine contents page

I included the expected conventions such as the masthead,
page numbers, secondary images and anchored images, I
decided to include them all as it helps to give the magazine
direction and makes it easier for the audience to enjoy the
magazine. I also included certain things that are not expected
conventions such as social media promoting and large fonts
for my main articles.
