    The SAE BAJA team at CEME, NUST was founded in 2016 and has already built their first off-road vehicle called "Phoenix" for competitions. They are currently fabricating "Phoenix 2.0" and plan to be the first team from their university to compete in the international SAE BAJA competition which tests vehicle design and durability. The team also aims to host Pakistan's first local SAE BAJA competition in November 2017 to allow students from different universities to compete. Off-road vehicles developed through this competition could have future military, disaster response, and agricultural applications.
