    Everything is made up of atoms. They are like tiny building


    blocks which are too small to be seen with a microscope.
    Elements are substances made up of one type of atom only.
    For example, lead and gold are types of elements. However, lead
    contains lead atoms only and gold contains gold atoms only.
    Now, a compound is a substance that contains 2 or more
    different atoms/elements chemically bonded together.
    THE PERIODIC TABLE
    The periodic table was created by a scientist named Dmitri Mendeleev. It contains all the
    elements that have been discovered.
