Situated at Bagga on Chamba – Bharmour Road 20 Km. from Chamba.
Approached by a diversion road to the highway.
 Security Arrangements
Entry is restricted through 2 nos. heavy duty Barriers forming first line of
protection followed by Pacca Morchas with DFMD of CISF wherein 3 nos. armed
men with HHMD and Trolley mirror are on duty round the clock.
 Surveillance and Communication systems
One no. rotating and one no. fixed IP base Network Cameras besides Night
Vision Binoculars are provided for round the clock monitoring of vicinity of Dam
areas such as Reservoir, Dam structures, Road and nearby hills.
EPBAX ,VSAT, Mobile Communication, P&T ,VHF Set, Wakly-Talky are
available for communication.

Damage to the various Dam Structures, Flooding, Loss of Human life.

practiced through Mock Drills.
SFT & Desilting Chamber

 Location
Situated adjacent to Dam. Approached by a diversion road to
the highway.
 Security Arrangements
Entry is restricted through 1 nos. heavy duty Barriers forming
first line of protection followed by Pacca Morchas wherein 1 nos.
armed men are on duty round the clock.
 Communication systems
EPBAX ,P&T, Wakly-Talky are available for communication.

Damage to the various Equipment, Flooding, Loss of Human
life.

Valve Chamber

 Location
Situated at Jarangla on Chamba – Bharmour Road 11 Km. from Chamba.

Entry is restricted through 1 nos. heavy duty Steel gate followed by Electrically
operated Barriers forming first line of protection followed by 2 Pacca Morchas
with DFMD of CISF wherein 5 nos. armed men with HHMD are on duty round
the clock.
 Surveillance and Communication systems
8 nos IP base Network Cameras besides Night Vision Binoculars are provided
for round the clock monitoring of vicinity of Powerhouse areas such as
Switchyard, store, Road and nearby hills.
EPBAX ,VSAT, Mobile Communication, P&T ,VHF Set, Wakly-Talky are
available for communication.

Damage to the various Powerhouse Structures and equipments, Flooding, Loss
of Human life.

4+1 nos. armed men with HHMD are on duty round the clock..

 Additionally, Private Security Personnel are


deputed at Butterfly Value Chamber, Surge
Shaft, TRT Outlet, Central Store &
Administrative Office Complex round the
clock

complexes is restricted only to
authorized personnel.
 Visitors are allowed only after prior
written permission from the Head of the
Power station.
 Contract Workers/Drivers are issued
Gate Passes by CISF only after Police
verification.

Detectors, Under View trolley Mirror, Door
framed Metal Detector at entrance of
Powerhouse & Dam.
 Round the Clock Surveillance by CCTV, Night
Vision Binoculars.
 Three Different Communication equipment
are used i.e. EPBA Telephone, Mobile
,Wakly-Talky & VHF Set.

 Pucca Morcha’s are provided at all locations.


 Deployment of security Personnel
a.11 Nos armed men are deployed at
Dam.
b.12 Nos armed men are deployed at
Powerhouse.
c. 17 Nos armed men are deployed at
Township.

 To meet any emergency striking reserve


are being kept in DAM out post.

 Trained CISF personnel in civil dress


are deployed at all locations of CPS-II
and surrounding areas to collect
advance information regarding any
mishaps.

 Night Checking/Surprised checking are


also carried out in odd hours by CISF to
alert and Strengthen the Security Duty.
 At powerhouse location the first level of
protection is Steel gate, the second
level of protection is Electrical operated
barrier, then there is Sliding iron gate.

 QRT (Quick Reaction team) comprising


5 Nos of CISF Personnel equipped with
arms and gadgets to meet any
contingencies.
 Monthly Mock Drills are also conducted
by CISF on various subjects. Short
comings are noted and rectified.
Alternatives Considered

The main control room in powerhouse has been


designated as emergency control room . It is
Manned for 24 hours and is equipped with the
following.
 Telephone
 Siren
 Torches
 Ropes
 First aid boxes
 Fire extinguishers
 Security personnel
 Clock
Response

 Control room In-charge will immediately


inform HOP & Security In-charge.
 He will communicate CISF men on duty
as there may be more than one intruder
or saboteur.
 He will also alert all other Shift
members.
Response

 Main controller will coordinate the


situation with District Administration,
Hospitals ,and other available recourses
to take appropriate security action.
 Area will be cordoned off for normal
movement.
 Evacuation to the designated safer
places.
Response

 A thorough search will be carried out by the


security and police agencies who are well
versed in dealing with such situations.
 In case a bomb is found or suspected, sand
bags will be placed around the object to
reduce the impact of damage in the event of
an explosion.
 The nearest police or army unit who invariably
have trained personnel for this purpose
should be called for disposal.
Actions (Bomb Threats & Bomb Explosion)

 All efforts in case of bomb threat or bomb explosion


will be coordinated by the Management.
 Ear-mark evacuation area.
 Develop an evacuation signal .
 Outline mechanism in liaison with security, fire and
medical agencies.
 Select and specify the search team.
 Display telephone numbers of bomb disposal squad,
fire and medical agencies, security agency and police
etc. prominently.
