Basic Street Safety Tips
1. Cross the street at marked crosswalks and
intersections.

2. Before crossing, look left, right, then left


again
3. Use pedestrian pushbuttons.
4. Begin crossing the street on "Walk"
. signal.
5. Stay visible after dark and in bad weather.
6. Watch out for trucks and buses backing
out of parking spaces and driveways.

 Have more than one escape route from your
home. Practice these routes with your
family.

 Never smoke in bed.

 Have telephones in easy reach of both your


bed and the place you sit most often.

 Buy a first-aid kit. Keep one in both your


home and your car.

 Turn off appliances when they are not in use.

other rooms. Make sure you know how to use

children from inserting objects into the plug.
