of unwanted toxins or wastes
that are not helpful to the body.

• Main purpose is to maintain

the stability and constancy
needed to function properly.

our Body:

•Excess salts
•Carbon dioxide
•Urea
A process by which these
metabolic wastes are

•Is one part of the many
processes that maintain
hemeostasis
Organs of Excretion
•Skin
- It excretes excess water and salts
as well as small amount of Urea, in
the form of sweat.
* Urea – is a toxic compound that is
produced when amino acids are used for
energy.
•Lungs
- It excretes carbon dioxide

* Carbon Dioxide
–a gas produced when energy is
captured from compounds in foods.

– main organ
of the
Excretory
System
-these are two bean-shaped
organs that extract waste from
the blood, balance body fluids,
form urine, and aid in other
important functions of the body.
