My dad has had a varied career path over many jobs in the car business and finance industries. After starting as a musician in high school and working in a pizza restaurant in college, he had roles as a financial planner, several car dealership management positions including general manager and vice president, and was self-employed as an investment professional. Currently, he works as a general sales manager at a Chevrolet dealership, having learned important lessons about self-employment, business success, and work-life balance through his diverse experiences.

Dream Job When my Dad was in Highschool, he wanted to be a Musician. He was a part of a band while he was in highschool and college, he played the saxophone. First Job While my Dad was in college for business, he worked in a pizza restaurant Second Job His second job was a Financial Planner for Calver Securities Third Job Then, my dad worked for Boone Ford as a Finance Manager, and a General Sales Manager. He worked there for 7 years. Fourth Job Then, My Dad worked for Tacoma Dodge as the General Manager, and Vice President. He owned a part of the company and worked there for 11 years. Fifth/Sixth Job After that, he was self employed as an Investment Professional for 5 years. Then He continued in the car business at Riverside Ford for another 5 years. Seventh Job After working there, he worked at another dealership called Good Chevrolet as the General Sales Manager Current Job After his many jobs in the car business, my dad now works for a dealership called Jet Chevrolet Lessons He Learned One of the main things that my dad learned while he was working was how to basically make work for himself. He was self employed for 5 years and during those years he figured out what was important in his work, and how to be independent and manage his work load. He also figured out what makes a good business, and almost started his own, but instead he decided to go to dealerships and help them be more successful as a business. My dad is very intelligent, I think he is literally a human calculator, and it was really cool to see him helping others to become more successful. He also learned in those years that work isn't the purpose of life and that it is important to experience other things, and take a break when work gets too much to handle.
