WHAT TO DO DURING AN EARTHQUAKE?
• DROP to the ground
• Take COVER by getting under a sturdy table or other piece
of furniture; and
• HOLD on until the shaking stops. If there isn’t a table or
desk near you, cover your face and head with your arms and
crouch in an inside corner of the building.

EVACUATION PROCEDURE
PRIOR EXITING
• Access the situation & consequences
• Stop working & vacate building, as soon as the shaking
stopped.
• Close door (but not lock).
• Take personal valuables, bag, money, mobile phone,
and emergency kit but do not waste time.

 EVACUATION PROCEDURE

WHEN EXITING: AFTER EXITING:

• Walk, do not run.
• Use stairs or emergency exit doors. DO NOT USE
ELEVATORS.
• Help children or person with disability beside you to
evacuate.
• Move outside to the assembly point or outside
away from the building.
• Stay away from building, tress, poles, streetlights,
power line/sign etc. as you walk.
• Try to establish contact with your ASFP, warden.
• Congregate with your section.
• Comms Team/designated persons to conduct head
count to ensure that every body is evacuated.
• COM to check and report injuries to ERTL.
• ERTL to organize search, if safe for those missing staff
(if any).
• Staff should not return to the office until it is declared
safe.

• Activate fire the alarm system.

• Stay low closest to the floor to avoid smoke inhalation.

• Take action with fire extinguisher only if the fire is still

controllable.

• Do not use the elevators, use the stairs instead.

• Leave the building and close the doors behind to confine

the fire.

• Feel the door wit the back of your hands. If it feels COLD,
you may pass through it.

• Stay calm and do not panic.
