Bully Prevention

ISD 88
Definition of Bullying:
"Bullying" means intimidating, threatening, abusive, or harming conduct that is
objectively offensive and:
there is an actual or perceived imbalance of power between the student engaging in
prohibited conduct and the target of the behavior and the conduct is repeated or forms
a pattern; or
materially and substantially interferes with a student's educational opportunities or
performance or ability to participate in school functions or activities or receive school
benefits, services, or privileges.
High School ISD # 88 Response to Bullying
● Proactive-Bullying Presentations and Handbook Review Highlighting School Policy
● Reactive-Bullying forms filled out and given to counselors. Counselors and
administration work together on a case by case basis. Counseling services are
available for victims and an assessment/action process is worked through with the
culprit.

Middle School
● Proactive - PBIS and Advisory program using the 7 Mindsets curriculum. Counselors review
bullying policies and reporting procedures with students and lead anti-bullying lessons in
the classroom .
● Reactive- When a bullying incident occurs, a bullying incident form is filled out with
assistance from a counselor. Counselors and administration work together on a case by case
basis. Investigations are conducted and consequences are assigned based on behavioral
guidelines.
Jefferson

● Proactive-PBIS, Second Step, and Counselor Classroom Lessons


● Reactive-Anonymous Reporting Forms are available online and on site.
Counselors, administration, and other staff work together on a case by case basis.

WLC

● Proactive-PBIS, Second Step, and Social Worker Classroom Lessons


● Reactive-Reports are made to Classroom Teachers and/or Social Worker. Staff
work together on a case by case basis.
