words.
 Reading Body Language
Someone who is frequently checking their watch or yawning would tell you it’s
time to wrap things up, and someone nodding and sitting forward let you know they are
invested. Body language takes out much of the guesswork.
Personal Touch

Forbes surveyed 760 business executives and found that 84% preferred face-to-
face communications. Out of those, 85% said their reason was that it builds stronger,
more meaningful business relationships.

Building Relationships

Making eye contact is crucial to show sincerity and establish a firm connection.
The result is especially valuable when trying to create a lasting business relationship.
Meeting Effectiveness

• Things Get Done

• Less Misunderstanding

Increased Time: Value Ratio

Meeting face-to-face by video conferring offers the benefits of
meeting in-person, without the significant travel expenses.
DISADVANTAGES OF FACE TO FACE
COMMUNICATION

Face to face communication may not be suitable for people who are nervous
or poor communicators.

 Unsuitable for Large Audiences

Face to face communication is not possible to establish a proper rapport

with a large group, through face to face communication.
Unsuitable for Large Organizations

Face to face communication is unsuitable for large organizations as they have

branch offices located at different places and even in different countries.

Low Legal and Reference Value

Face to face communication is oral; no written records are kept so it cannot be

quoted in the court of law.

Poor Retention by Listener

In face to face, the communicator can speak at the rate of 100 to 200 words per
minute, while the listener's brain can process about 600 to 700 words per minute. The
result is that the listener's mind wanders and he does not grasp all the message of
speaker.
