 Some of the major secondary sources of Pt, Pd & Rh are:-
 Catalytic converters
 Electrical contacts and electrodes
 Platinum resistance thermometers
 Jewellery
 Platinum based anodes used in ships, pipelines and steel
piers
 Rhodium and Palladium are fission products of U-235.

Pt, Pd & Rh
 Nuclear fuel is a potential source but the extraction is complex
and expensive.
