Colles’ fracture

 Normally, the radial styloid

process projects further
distally than the ulnar
styloid process.
 Consequently, when
fracture within the distal 2
cm of the radius (Colles’
fracture) occurs, this
relationship is reversed
because of shortening of
the radius.
