 Information and communication technology in
education. ICT stands for information and
communication technologies and is defined, as a
“ diverse set of technological tools and resources
used to communicate, and to create, disseminate,
store, and manage information.
 MEANING
• The term “INFORMATION” refers to any
communication or representation of knowledge
such as facts, data or opinions in any medium or
for, including textual, numerical, graphic,
cartographic, narrative or audiovisual forms.
• Technology is the practical form of scientific
knowledge or the science of application of
knowledge to prarical.
 DEFINITION
• ICT stand for information and communication
technologies and is defined, as a “ diverse set of
technological tools and resources used to communicate,
and to create, disseminate, store, and manage
information”.
• “ ICT implies the technology which consists of
electronic devices and associated human interactive
materials that enable the user to employ them for a wide
range of teaching – learning process in addition to
personal use”.
