PROJECT ADDRESS - ABOUT 22 KM SOUTHEAST OF DEHRADUN,
UTTARAKHAND, INDIA.

SITE SURROUNDINGS
Dehradun Airport is also known as Jolly Grant Airport is a domestic
airport located about 22 km southeast of DEHRADUN, UTTRAKHAND,
India. Jolly Grant airport became the center of operations for rescue
effort in evacuating pilgrims from kedarnath and the surrounding
pilgrimage sites during the 2013 UTTRAKHAND flood.

PROJECT INTRODUCTION
An Airport Terminal is a building at an airport where passengers
transfer between ground transportation and the facilities that allow
them to board and disembark from aircraft.
Within the terminal, passengers purchase tickets, transfer their luggage,
and go through security. The buildings that provide access to the
airplanes are typically called concourses. However, the terms
"terminal" and "concourse" are sometimes used interchangeably,
depending on the configuration of the airport.

REASON FOR SELECTION


As per traffic data, the domestic passenger handled are .37 million for
the year (2014-15). The building capacity is saturated. Therefore it is
proposed to expand the Terminal building to cater to the passengers
convinience in future growth of Dehradun Airport.
Domestic Airports will also represent city’s window on the nation.
Passengers from their first impressions about a city from the state of its
airport.
It will also encourage tourism in the city and cultural activities.

AIMS
To make a modern Domestic Airport for the Dehradun city to increase it
connectivity with the modern developed cities in India, reduce load
from the railways and roadways make other cities more accessible and
save travelling time, increase tourism and economy of the city, with
better and new opportunities for the people.
OBJECTIVES
To study urban context of the site & surrounding and mark distinction
wherever required.
To study the transformation in architecture and come up with the
excellence implication in design.
To search the latest technologies for the project.
To study the climatic responsive design.

SITE INTRODUCTION
The Najafgarh metro station will be connected to Nangli metro station
all the way to Noida city centre metro station, contributing to one of
the longest metro lines. The collective length of the Najafgarh area
metro stations that are under construction will be 4.295 km out of
which 2.754 km will be elevated and 1.541 km underground. Progress
of civil works upto April 2017 is 72.23 percent

The aim of the project is to give better designs and solutions to
reduce the negative impact of the city environment and traffic.

Its impact on the urban infrastructure
The need of metro rail project to solve the traffic issues.
Saving man hours due to reduced journey time.

The scope of study to understand the role of Metro Rail project.
And also issues in the planning, construction and implementation.
Its influence on the people, business, land use, and other factor along
the route.
