Afghanistan…
 In 1923-24, the first projector- “magic box” showed the first silent film
in Paghman to the public under the reign of Shah Amanullah Khan.
 Afghan film infrastructure was constructed under the reign of King
Mohammed Zahir Shah where in American trainees were invited for
training the youths in the field of cinema.
 When the Taliban took power in 1996, cinemas were attacked and
forbidden.
 The cinema of Afghanistan re-emerged after September 11,2001.
 At present, Afghan films are premiered at various International Film
Exhibitions. Also, every year an award giving ceremony “Film Industry
Award Programme” is held.
