CHOOSING AN APPROACH
One-sided: strong opinion-clearly defended
Balanced: undecided-pros and cons argued
Analytical: evaluative-presented in order of
strength
The one-sided approach:
You provide a strong opinion, either agreeing or
disagreeing with the idea presented in the stimulus, and
defend it.
STRUCTURE:
EXAMPLE: ‘We are apt to forget that children watch examples better
than they listen to preaching.’
Adopting the one-sided approach, generate and
organize ideas for the following stimuli and
write a response:

his parents will not have true respect for
