Biodiversity
literally means “the diversity of life“, refers to the
variety of life forms on Earth. This diversity
includes all the variations that exist in all levels of
biological organization.
Biodiversity can be
observed in 3 levels:

1. Genetic diversity
2. Species diversity
3. Ecosystem diversity
Climate change

Increase in the temperature

of the atmosphere has
major effects on the
environment such as the
seasons, the rising sea
levels, and glacial retreats
HABITAT LOSS & DEGRADATION
This may either be caused by natural calamities
and geological events or deforestation and
man-induced climate change
pollution

Be it water, air or land

pollution, all forms of
pollution appear to be
a threat to all life
forms on Earth
Invasive species
An unnatural or exotic
species can be any
kind of organism that
has been introduced
in a foreign habitat
which can cause major
threats to native
species.
OVEREXPLOITATION
The act of over-
harvesting species
and natural resources
at rates faster than
they can actually
sustain themselves in
the wild
Other potential threats
Epidemics and
infectious diseases of
wildlife such as Ebola
virus disease,
infectious bursal
disease, and flu affect
wildlife and diversity
