Quick Summary
Camp Hidden Falls is a camp that is owned by the Girl Scouts that every
year we rent from them to have our annual camping trip. This camping trip is
to have kids forget about their normal life and to have them experience
something new. By this I mean no cell phones, no IPods, no electronics. We
hope though this we can have the kids witness a remarkable experience and
have a fun time.
Though some kids are crying the first or second night that they hate it
or that they are home sick it is a different story by the end of the week, they
are crying to stay! Camp Hidden Falls is mostly an outdoor/ hiking camp so
we must expect the worst at all times, this could run from ticks to asthmas
problems or some kids sagging behind to twisted ankles or fractures.
The Beginning

On May 18, 2009 was the start of this wonderful camping trip. We had to
meet in front of Truman High School at 5:30 a.m. However, if you were one
of that kids that had medicine you had to arrive at 5:00 a.m. so then you
and your parent could give your medicine to the nurse. Prior to this we
were given colored tags that had to either taped or pinned onto out
luggage. On this we had to write our full name, group number and the
name of our school so then once our luggage got up to the campsite they
could drop off our group’s luggage at the appropriate campsite. Then once
6:00 a.m. hit we were on the buses and off to camp!
Finally at Camp!
After the two and a half hour bus
ride we finally got Camp Hidden
Falls. Once all the school buses
reached its destination, we were
released from the buses and stood
in the field until further direction.
After Mr. A welcomed us he told
us which campsite each school
would be staying at for the week.
All the groups then went to our
camp sites and cleaned either the While
cabins or tents out because we cleaning, the
were the first people there this girls just
season. To our surprise my school happened to

cabins and the rest of the schools a mouse's

luggage will arrive, which it did. bed!

this serious up to the cafeteria to eat breakfast. All the
though, they councilors and CITs were then handed an activity
purposely packet that we had to follow at all times. This
messed packet told us where we had to be at all times and
theirs up! what activates we would be doing at what location.
Afterwards, we headed back to our camp to
decide who would be rooming in what cabin and to
unload our belongings because we did not have
enough time beforehand.
(Boy’s cabin)
Not to mention, we had to keep our cabins
neat at all times because we had inspections each
day. They will come and rate our cabin on a scale
one to ten. They will look for dirt, blankets
wrinkled, trash, anything to deduct points! This
however, was only for fun but we had our group
take it very serious and we had little competitions
between our cabins to see who could do the best.

Arts & Crafts
Arts and crafts is a fun way to let kids
express themselves. Here we had a the
kids take twigs that they collected
outside of the arts and crafts cabin and
place them onto a plastic bottle after we
cut off the top of the bottle. We then
