OBJECTIVES:

Visualizes and
describes solid
figures
Code: M5GE-IIIe
SOLID FIGURES
 Solid figures are three-
dimensional figures.
 A 3-D object has length,
width, height, and takes
up space. They also have
faces, edges and vertices.
SOLID FIGURES
Each flat surface is a
face. Each face is a
polygon.
SOLID FIGURES
The line segment formed
where two faces meet is
an edge.
SOLID FIGURES
The point where three or
more edges meet is a
vertex.
SOLID FIGURES
can either be polyhedron
or non-polyhedron.
POLYHEDRON
 all faces are
polygons.
 it may be a prism
or a pyramid.
Prism
- is a solid figure
that has two
parallel
congruent bases
joined by
rectangular faces.
Each prism is
named by the
shape of its base.
POLYHEDRON
PRISMS Examples
Pyramid
-A pyramid has
one base that
can be any
polygon.
-All of the faces
are triangles
that share a
vertex.
