Definition

Conditional Sentence is a sentence used to


express something that might or might not
happen as expected. Conditonal Sentences
consist of 2 clauses, namely main clause
and if clause
Types of Conditional Sentences

FORMULA
A. Future Conditional
If + S + Verb (present), S + Will + Verb 1
Future Conditional is a
sentence that expresses the
activity that is expected to
happen in the future and Example :
has the possibility to 1. If I have enough time,
occur. I will visit him.
2. We will wait if you
want to join us
3. If you study hard, you
will pas the final exam
B. Present Conditional
Present Conditional is a sentence that states the event
that is expected to happen now but does not happen.

FORMULA

If + S + Verb 2/were, S + Would + Verb 1

Example :
1. If she visited me, i would give him
chocolate.
2. If you were a flower, I would be a bee.
C. Past Conditional
Past Conditonal are sentences that state events that
were expected to occur in the past, but did not occur.

FORMULA

If + S + had + Verb 3, S + would have + Verb 3

Example :
1. If she had studied hard, she would have passed the
final exam.
2. If Ariana Grande had been here, I would have been
very happy.
