which the participants have to do with

SMART PARROT

 (ORIENTATION)
Once upon time, a man had a wonderful parrot.
There was no other parrot like it. The parrot could
say every word, except one word. The parrot could
not say the name of its master. The name of its
master was Bambang.
(COMPLICATION)
The man felt excited having the smartest parrot but he could
not understand why the parrot would not say his name Bambang.
The man tried to teach the bird to say Bambang, however the bird
kept not saying the word.
At the first, the man was very nice to the bird but then he got
very angry. “You stupid, idiot bird!” pointed the man to the
parrot. “Why can’t you say the word? Say Bambang! Or I will kill
you” the man said angrily. Although he tried hard to teach, the
parrot would not say it. Then the man got so angry and shouted
to the bird over and over; “Say Bambang or I’ll kill you”. The bird
kept not to say the word of Bambang.
One day, after he had been trying so many times to make the bird
say Bambang, the man really got very angry. He could not bear it.
He picked the parrot and threw it into the chicken house. There
were four old chickens for next dinner “You are as stupid as the
chickens. Just stay with them” Said the man angrily. Then he
continued to humble; “You know, I will cut the chicken for my
meal. Next it will be your turn, I will eat you too, stupid idiot
parrot”. After that he left the chicken house.
(RESOLUTION)
The next day, the man came back to the chicken house. He
opened the door and was very surprised. He could not believe
what he saw at the chicken house. There were three death
chickens on the floor. At the moment, the parrot was standing
proudly and screaming at the last old chicken; “Say Bambang or
I’ll kill you”.

Once upon a time their lived a group of mice under a tree in peace.
However, a group of elephants crossing the jungle unknowingly
destroyed the homes of all the rats. Many of them were even crushed to
death.
hen taking of rats decided to approach the elephant's chief and
request him to guide his herd through another route. On hearing the
sad story, the elephant's king apologized and agreed to take another
route. And so the lives of the rats were saved.
One day elephant-hunters came to the jungle and trapped a group of
elephants in huge nets. Then the elephant king suddenly remembered the
king of the rats. He summoned on of the elephants of his herd, which had
not been trapped, to go seek help from the king and told him about the
trapped elephants.
The rat's king immediately took his entire group of rats and they cut open
the nets which had trapped the elephant's herd. The elephant herd was
totally set free. They danced with joy and thank the rats.

Recount Text
Recount Text adalah salah satu jenis text dalam bahasa Inggris yang
menceritakan kembali tentang kejadian-kejadian atau pengalaman-
pengalaman di masa lampau. Tujuan dari Recount Text adalah untuk
memberikan informasi atau untuk menghibur pembaca sehingga tidak
terdapat konflik.
Struktur Recount Text :
a. Orientation
Yaitu pengenalan berupa memberikan informasi tentang siapa, dimana dan
kapan peristiwa atau kejadian itu terjadi di masa lampau.
b. Events
Yaitu merupakan rekaman peristiwa yang terjadi, biasanya disampaikan
dalam urutan kronologis, seperti : "In the first day... . And in the next day... .
And in the last day... ." Pada bagian ini terdapat juga komentar pribadi
tentang peristiwa atau kejadian yang diceritakan.
c. Reorientation
Yaitu pengulangan pengenalan yang ada di orientation, pengulangan
tentang rangkuman peristiwa atau kejadian yang diceritakan.

I spent my holiday in Jogjakarta last year. I went to Prambanan Temple with
my family early in the morning.
Events
We went to Prambanan Temple by bus and arrived at 01.00 in the afternoon.
I saw many foreign tourists there. I spoke English with them. Their name are
Andrew and Peter. They were very friendly. They came from New York.
Prambanan Temple was crowded in holiday. We went back at 07.00 in the
evening.
Reorientation
It was a very interesting holiday.

there. We were lucky because we were led by a smart and friendly guide. Then
we continued our journey to Borobudur. We arrived there at four p.m. At 5
p.m. we heard the announcement that Borobudur gate would be closed.
In the evening we left for Jakarta by wisata bus.

Procedure text memiliki skema susunan umum atau generic
structure diantaranya adalah sebagai berikut :
a) Goal/Aim (Tujuan)
Goal atau aim berarti tujuan dalam pembuatan atau peng-
operasian sesuatu.
b) Materials (Bahan-Bahan)
Materials adalah bahan-bahan yang diperlukan untuk
melakukan sesuatu. Namun demikian, terdapat pula
Procedure Text yang tidak memerlukan bahan-bahan.
Seba¬gai contoh, “How to use the computer.”
Generic Stucture of Procedure Text
a) Goal/Aim (Tujuan)
Goal atau aim berarti tujuan dalam pembuatan atau peng- operasian
sesuatu.
b) Materials (Bahan-Bahan)
Materials adalah bahan-bahan yang diperlukan untuk melakukan sesuatu.
Namun demikian, terdapat pula Procedure Text yang tidak memerlukan
bahan-bahan. Seba¬gai contoh, “How to use the computer.”
c) Steps (Langkah-Langkah)
Bagian ini memuat langkah-langkah atau urutan yang harus dilakukan
agartujuan dapat tercapai. Sebagai catatan, pada Procedure Text berupa How
to biasanya tidak menyebutkan (menyertakan) materi.yang dibutuhkan
(material needed).
Contoh Suatu Prosedur : How To Make Fried Rice
Goal Tujuan prosedur adalah memberikan instruksi mengenai cara membuat
nasi goreng.

a plate of rice 1 red chili pepper chopped 1 clove garlic chopped fine
1 clove chopped onion pinch of salt
2 tbsp margarine 2 tbsp soy sauce
Steps
Crush the red pepper, garlic, and onion until very fine. Add the salt and saute
in margarine over low heat for 2 minutes. Add the rice and soya sauceStir
until well mixed and rice is hot.
Presentation : Serve hot on a plate. Garnish With shredded omelet, sliced
cucumber, and tomatoes.

The ingredients:
150 g tempe 1 tablespoon flour 1 egg 1 spoon Royco
1 cup vegetable oil for frying
Here are the instructions:
Mash the tempe with a fork.
Put the mashed tempe in a bowl and mix with the flour and Royco, followed
by an egg.
Shape the tempe into the size of a golf ball and flatten a little with a fork.
Heat the vegetable oil in a medium flame. When the oil is hot, drop the tempe
into the oil, five or six at a time.
Fry until golden brown on both sides, drain on absorbent paper and serve hot
with chili or sauce.
