Characteristics
This department, located in the
north of Colombia, has low hills
that form chains and plains near to
Canal del Dique.
Luruaco and El Totumo swamps,
Magdalena River mouth, and El
Guájaro reservoir are also located
here.
Atlántico is at level sea, with an
average temperature of 27
centigrade degres and winds
coming from the Caribbean Sea.

Characteristics
Barranquilla's Carnival is one of the

folkloric celebrations, and one of
the biggest carnivals in the world.
It includes dances like the Spanish
paloteo, African congo, and
cumbia. It also has parades, music
festivals and many dancers and
people in customes along the
streets. It is a not-to-miss festivity!
