Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPJ) was established under
the Perbadanan Putrajaya 1995 (Act 536) for the
purpose of managing and administering the Federal
Territory of Putrajaya.

Perbadanan Putrajaya is also entrusted with the

functions of a local authority and local planning
authority by various orders and notifications,
namely:

• Federal Territory of Putrajaya (Modification of

Local Government Act 1976) Order 2002
• Federal Territory of Putrajaya (Modification of
Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974) Order 2002
• Federal Territory of Putrajaya (Modification of
Town and Country Planning Act 1976) Order 2010

OBJECTIVE
Perbadanan Putrajaya was established under the Perbadanan Putrajaya
1995 (Act 536) for the purpose of managing and administering Federal
Territory of Putrajaya. Perbadanan Putrajaya is also entrusted with the
functions of a local authority and local planning authority by various
orders and notifications.
FUNCTIONS
(As stipulated in Section 4 of the Perbadanan Putrajaya Act)

• To perform all functions of a local government in Federal Territory

of Putrajaya
• To promote, stimulate, facilitate and undertake commercial,
infrastructure and residential development in the area
• To promote, stimulate and undertake economic and social
development in the area
• To control and co-ordinate the performance of the above activities
in the area
• Symbolizes harmony between humans, development and the
environment.
• Green organic structure symbolizes the environment.
• Square static structure symbolizes the development of a city.
• Overall design symbolizes a dynamic environment that serves the
Federal Government Administrative Centre.
ISSUE FACED BY PERBADANAN PUTRAJAYA
• The vision for Putrajaya is to transform itself from a Garden City
into Green City by the year 2025. In doing this, it has identified 4
Big Moves and 8 Policies in its gazette Structure plan. These 2025
long-term plans are key fundamental attributes of a smart and
hence the current planning and development of Putrajaya sets the
pathway towards such transformation. But they had to postpone
the Smart Putrajaya project due to this pandemic.
CURRENT CONTRIBUTIONS
Putrajaya Mobile Online Learning

• Scholastic has teamed up with Putrajaya Mobile to provide English

education through mobile learning.
• Scholastic is an established multinational company in publishing and
distributing books and education materials while Putrajaya Mobile is
an app by Perbadanan Putrajaya to promote Putrajaya and one of the
initiatives of Smart Putrajaya. Together, Touch Point International, the
smart partner of Smart Putrajaya is also involved in this collaboration
to bring Putrajaya Mobile Online Learning into reality.
Local council Perbadanan Putrajaya releases Covid-19 PSA song using
Gardenia’s tune urging Malaysians to stay home.

• The in-house band of local council Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj) has

released a public service announcement song (PSA) urging Malaysians
to stay at home amid the Covid-19 crisis.
• The musical PSA that was released two days ago on social media is
based on the catchy jingle by the Gardenia bread brand with its own
unique lyrics.
• Among the advice embedded in the song include urging Malaysians to
wash their hands to maintain good hygiene habits, and staying at home
as instructed by medical front liners.
