FANGOTHERAPY

• Fangotherapy is the use of mud, peat, and clay for


healing purposes (fango is the Italian word for mud).

• One of thermotherapy is pelo-therapy or fangotherapy


(from greek word ‘pelos’= ooze or mud)
• Fangotherapy first gained popularity in the early
eighteen-hundreds in Europe where it was, and still is,
used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal and skin
conditions.

MUD THERAPY
• Naturopathy is a natural healing technique
using the healing powers of nature. The
principle of Naturopathy is that the
accumulation of toxins is the root cause of all
diseases. Prevention and elimination of toxins
is the route to health.
• Of the five elements of nature, mud represents
Earth and has tremendous impact on the
maintenance of health and prevention of
diseases.
Preparation
• The mud used for treatment purpose should
be collected from 122cm to 153 cm depth
from the surface of the ground and should be
very clean, pure and free from all the
contaminations.

 Local application – timing 15 to 30 mins
 Full mud bath – timing 45 to 60 mins
Indirect method :
 Abdomen pack – size 22.86x15.24x1.27 cm , time20 mins
 eye pack – size 15.24x9.12x.53 cm , time 20 mins
 forehead
