INTRODUCTION
 Story writing is generally about a narration of real or
imaginary events happening in one’s daily life.
 It involves real or imaginary people
 Necessary words are used to describe a story
 It can be with the help or images or moving pictures
 It can be source of spreading information regarding
something or to entertain someone.
ELEMENTS OF STORY WRITING
A story has five basic but important elements. These essential
elements keep the story running in a smooth way and in a
logical manner that a reader can follow. It includes:
 Plotting
 Character selection
 Setting
 Language
 Theme
PLOTTING
It has five basic elements:
 Exposition: (introduction)

A girl lives with her parents in a very down area in critical situation.
 Rising action: (series of attention seeking events)

An accident changes their life while going fro a shopping.


 Climax: (turning point)

Her father is sent to jail for killing a snatcher accidently.


 Falling action: (condition of characters after some events)

She becomes more possessive after this and starts earning to support her family.
 Resolution: (end of story)

A lawyer helps her to make her father free from jail and they live happily afterwards.
CHARACTER SELECTION
A character may be based on a reality or fiction
 Antagonist (negative character/ villain)
 Protagonist (main character / hero)

In my story, Father is the main character or the hero and his


daughter Susan is a kind of antagonist in the very beginning
but after all the events happening in her life , she changes
herself.
SETTING

It is a time or place where


the story has taken place.
This story took place in a
poor area of a small town.
THEME
It is the topic or central idea of a story or
drama, what author is trying to teach
This story is about a girl who is very stubborn
and selfish. She faces a lot of issues due to
her stubborn nature. In the end she learns a
life time lesson, when her father is
imprisoned because to her stubborn attitude.
LANGUAGE
It is the technique or style
chosen to describe the whole
story.
Expository language is used in
this story.
