TOPIC
• Aluminum fiber composites reinforced with mixtures of
diamond and SiC particles of equal size were produced
by gas pressure-assisted liquid metal infiltration.
• Replacing SiC gradually by diamond particles results in
a steady increase of thermal conductivity from 220 to
580 W m−1 K−1.

THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
• Thermal properties of AMMCs consisting of an aluminum as continuous
matrix phase and ceramic particles as reinforcements are directly affected
by type, size, geometry, RVR and modulus of elasticity of dispersions.

THERMAL INSULATION
• Also the difference in the heat transfer mechanisms in
the constituents of composites plays an important role,
• As well as an interfacial thermal barrier resistance Aluminum
influence effectively on heat transfer inside the fiber
reinforced
composite and thus the thermal properties. composites

THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
• AMCs are aluminium that has been reinforced
with a secondary high-performance material, to
provide a perfect combination of light weight
and strength for components that are relied upon
in the most demanding applications.
• They provide the high thermal capacity of steel at less than half the
weight.

ALUMINIUM- FIBER COMPOSITE
MATERIALS ARE NATURALLY-

• Better retention of properties at high

temperature
• no moisture absorption
• Fire resistance
• Improved damage tolerance
