INTERNET
Is a worldwide, publicly accessible network of
interconnected computer networks that transmit
data by packet switching using the standard
Internet Protocol (IP).
Web pages are transferred between computers
via HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP).
HTTPS is used by websites that keeps sensitive
transactions and information safe online.
INTERNET
It is a network of networks that consists of
millions of smaller domestic, academic,
business, and government networks which
together carry various information and services.
Web sites are found by their addresses online.
These addresses are called URL or Uniform
Resource Locator.

the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA)

WWW – system of interlinked, hypertext
documents.
In other words, the Internet can exist without the
web, but the web cannot exist without the internet.

The technology allowed users to click on a
word/phrase in a document to open another
document.
Web Browsers translates HTML documents and
allows users to navigate other parts of the Internet.
HTML is the markup language that is used to create
webpages.
HTML documents contain both information and
markup symbols or codes.

WEBPAGE VS WEBSITE
.org: short for "organization"; mostly non-profits, but can be used for any type of
organization
.gov: short for "government"; usually a federal site, but also can indicate a state site
.edu: short for "educational"; most domains with an .edu extension are education-
related
.net: short for "network"; many ISPs (Internet Service Provider) and networks use a
.net extension.
