Measured depth (MD)

• the distance measured along the wellbore path

(i.e.the length of the drillstring).

• The inclination of the wellbore is the angle in

degrees that the wellbore is deviated from the
vertical.

• Is measured in degrees by the angle of the BHA

from a known North reference point. (true north
or magnetic north).
