Close Family Ties - one
of Filipino’s unique traits
-one of the outstanding
cultural values that Filipino’s have
-takes care of each other and are taught to be loyal to
family and elders by simply obeying their authorities
-fondness for family reunions during secular and
religious holidays such as Christmas, New year’s eve,
All Saints Day, Holy week, Fiestas, Homecoming,
Birthdays, Weddings, Graduations, Baptism,
Funerals, Etc.
For Europeans
Households in Europe - consist
of the traditional male
breadwinner, female housekeeper and several
children(today only few
household in Europe are having
this tradition).
-Europeans come out surprisingly conservative when it
comes to family values
-children have become “little angels” requiring and
deserving high investment and Interse emotional
involvement from their parents
-home has slowly transformed into child-centered haven.
-they believe that parents should do their utmost best for
their children, even at cost of their own well-being
