 HISTORY
1900 :
• The first police station was built on the current site where there is a raub
police station yard.
• Wooden floor and roof made of bertam leaves
• The site was choosen because the place was nearby the storage of tin ore,
gold, post office and hospital.
• Back then,the site also functioned as a route entrance for people from kuala
kubu.
• It objectively for the surrounding community that total more than 500
people and it also provides the Australian gold mining company safetiness.

1906 :
• The second police station was built because of increased business
activity and population growth.
• It was initially a prison and had two prison officers.
• Famous for its hibiscus garden that surrounds the area around the
fence.

1925 :
• Renovated by adding another level and enlarged slightly due to
increased police activity.

1948 :
• Became the target of communist threats.

 STRUCTURE
• The lower part of the station is constructed from stone, while
the ceiling and upper floor are constructed from high-quality
wood arrangement.
• At the back of the building there is a lockup with 6 cells,
which is separated by a tiled roof passage.
• Known as “Rumah Pasung” because of its function as a
police station and lockup.

• Built with a combination of colonial design at the ground

floor and melayu at the first floor.
• Ground floor : Place to receive complaints, meeting room,
operator room and firearms store.
• First Floor : no dividing wall or door leaf.
• Stairs are on the left and right of the building on the
outside.

 CONCLUSION

• Former raub district police station need to be preserved as its contruction can be
referred such as its joints,exterior and interior connection and so on.
• Having its own history and background since it was established.
• Combination of traditional malay and colonial style added its different kind of
aesthetical value.
• Even the building was built before the modernization, the way it was contructed
was very systematic and functional.
