PP meeting etc. Read this for further reading on pre-production processes.
2. Production processes - Production processes are cutting, sewing etc.
3. Post production processes - thread trimming, pressing, checking, folding and packing, shipment inspection etc.

Consumption determination of fabric is a very important term in the clothing industry. Since it depends on fabric prices
therefore accurate and closure consumption will reduce fabric wastage which will be beneficial for producing trouser with a
competitive cost.

PROCESS FLOW FOR FABRIC INSPECTION

Fabric Inspection is an important aspect followed prior to


garment manufacturing to avoid rejects due to fabric
quality and facing with unexpected loss in manufacturing.
Fabric inspection is done for fault/defect rate, fabric
construction, minimize the rejection of cut panels or
rejected garments due to fabric faults. Cutting inspected
and approved fabric ensures not only finished garment
quality but also reduces rejects, improves efficiency and
timely deliveries.

The 4-Point System assigns 1, 2, 3 and 4 penalty points


according to the size and significance of the defect. No
more than 4 penalty points can be assigned for any single
defect. Defect can be in either length or width direction,
the system remains the same. Only major defects are
considered. No penalty points are assigned to minor
defects.
In this system, one should inspect at least 10 per cent of
the total rolls in the shipment and make sure to select at
least one roll of each colour way.

Process Flow of Storage Department

The fabric stores department is centralized in apparel industry and all the fabric to this unit first from the supplier and
audited here and kept until it is distributed to other units. For an export oriented and bulk production of garment
industry. it is essential to maintain a well-organized & well equipped inventory system. The main responsibility of this
department is to store all the raw material necessary to produce garments. This department is sub divided into three
sections. Store keeper follows a strong and appropriate working procedure.

Trims Storage Department Material flow

The raw materials used in sewing room other than fabric are called
Trims. On the other hand, materials are directly attached to the fabric
to make a garment are called trims

The acceptance of the raw materials or the accessories is generally


done in terms of documents that have been received from the
merchants and also department makes the document for anything
they carry out within the store. The department first receives a PO
copy from the merchants, which the merchants would have sent it to
any one among the three above mentioned supplier types.

The JUKI MH-481 is a single needle chain stitch sewing machine designed to
sew beautiful, even chain stitching on multiple fabric types and is used for:
attaching waist belts, joining sides, seam insides and hip seams for trousers.
