    Application
    The basic assumptions underlying the lumen
    method :

    • rectangular room
    • ratio of length to width = 1.6:1, with a
    maximum of 4:1

    Lumen
    • completely empty room
    • uniform reflectance and completely diffuse
    reflection properties of the perimeter

    Method
    surfaces
    • uniform distribution of luminous flux over
    all areas
    • regular luminaire configuration throughout
    the room
    • in the case of fluorescent lamps, luminaire
    axis = room axis
