• Those with pre-existing • Young Adults
• Obesity
• Hypertension
• Cardiac disease
MINORITY
GROUPS
 Black, Hispanic, and Native American
deaths and cases are more
disproportionally high than whites
 CDC's data shows that from August 18th,
minority groups are experiencing more
hospitalization at rates of 4.5 to 5.5 higher
than whites
 "When you look at that continually
growing body of research, the findings
very consistently show that people of color
are really bearing the heaviest burden of
COVID-19 at every stage, from risk of
exposure, to access to testing, to severity
of the illness and eventually death,"

Native
WHY?
• Statistically more minority groups tend to live in more compact spaces than
white people.
• The living conditions are not exactly prime
• More  people in  one living space.
• Multigenerational households (living with grandparents)
• Most Minority communities are likely to be in an occupation which doesn't
allow them to work from home
• 25% of the employed Hispanic and African Americans work in the blue-
collar service industry
• 16% of the employed Whites work in the blue-collar service industry
• Most members of minority groups are more inclined to have less access of
healthcare because of lack of healthcare, not enough money, etc.
• 6% of Whites were uninsured,18% of Hispanics were uninsured, and 10%
for Blacks.
CHILDREN AND THE
VIRUS
• Death is uncommon in children
• A lot of the time children are asymptomatic
carriers
• There have been 100 children that have died of
COVID-19 as of September 25th
• 657,000 have tested positive
• A theory about why the virus is not as lethal in
children is that children do not have as many of
this type of molecule on the outsides of their cells
that the virus needs
• Children are only 10.6% of all cases in the states.
MINORITY
GROUPS:
CHILDREN
• Black and Hispanic children are impacted more harmfully
by the coronavirus
• They are more likely to be hospitalized than White
children
• Hispanic Children are hospitalized at the highest rate of
16.4 per 100,000 people
• Black Children are hospitalized at the highest rate of 10.5
per 100,000 people
• White Children are hospitalized at the highest rate of 2.1
per 100,000 people
• "The study examined 1,000 patients tested at a Children's
National Covid-19 testing site and found that just 7.3% of
White children tested positive for coronavirus, in contrast
to 30% of Black children and 46.4% of Hispanic children.
Three times as many Black children as White children
reported exposure to coronavirus." - CNN health
• Lower socioeconomic backgrounds seem to be the main
cause
• Not genetics
