Scholarship for the 3- Year Diploma Programs
What is UAQTEA?
• UAQTEA is a program established through Republic Act 10931. The
acronym UAQTEA stands for Universal Access to Quality Tertiary
Education Act. The law institutionalizes free tuition and exemption
from other fees in state universities and colleges (SUCs), local
universities and colleges (LUCs) and state-run Technical-Vocational
Institutions (STVIs) in the Philippines. The law also foresees subsidies
for private higher education institutions. It is intended to give
underprivileged Filipino students a chance to earn a college degree.
What are the Scholarship Programs under
UAQTEA?
• Free Higher Education (FHE) – This may be availed by students who will enroll in
college in state universities and colleges, SUCs and LUCs;
• Free TVET- All Filipino learners who will enroll in any TESDA-registered TVET
program leading to a non-degree certificate or diploma, including diploma
courses and bundled program, and offered by STVIs shall be eligible for the free
TVET provision, provided that they comply with the admission and retention
policies as well as residency requirements of STVIs;
• Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES)- The TES program is established to benefit all
Filipino learners who shall enroll in post secondary education either in bachelor’s
degree or TVET programs registered under CHED or TESDA respectively, and
offered in all CHED and TESDA-recognized privately-run institutions.
• Student Loan Program (SLP).

What are the programs offered by MDCI that are
eligible for the TESDA UAQTEA-TES Scholarship?
• Diploma in Digital Arts Technology (DDAT)
• Diploma in Software Engineering
Technology (DSET)
• Diploma in Tourism Technology (DTOT)
What are the Qualifications of
Beneficiaries?
• A Filipino Citizen;
• Must not be a current beneficiary of other government
educational scholarship or subsidy programs;
• At least ten (10) years basic education, including those
who graduated from high school through the
Alternative Learning System;
• Has taken NCAE or has undergone YP4SC Profiling;
• Learners who have not obtained a bachelor’s degree.
What are the Benefits of the Scholar?
• Free Training
• Free Assessment
• Training Support Fund for 90 day (P160.00 per day) or a total of P14,
400.00 per semester
• Allowance for Printed Instructional Materials (P5,000.00 per semester);
• Workshop Uniform Allowance (P450.00 per semester)
• GSIS Group Personal Accident Insurance for period of one (1) year;
• Internet allowance (P500.00) per semester; and
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) allowance of P500.00 per semester.
What are the responsibilities of a Scholar?
• Undergo pre-quality process in accordance with the industry pre-hiring
requirements;
• Fill-up all the items in the Learners Profile Form correctively and appropriately.
• Participate actively in the Training Induction of Scholars before the conduct of
the training program;
• Attend and comply with the required duration of the training program;
• Undergo the mandatory assessment;
• Attend graduation ceremonies and other scholar/TVI activities;
• Participate actively in the Job Linkaging of the TVET provider;
• Practice good manners and right conduct at all times;
• Be a member of the TESDA Alumni Association.
How will I apply for the Scholarship?
• Submit scholarship requirements to MDCI’s admissions
Office;
• Take entrance exams; Wait for results.
• Proceed to the Business Office for scholar code recording;
• Proceed to the Dean of the program you are interested in
and get Subject Assignment
• Bring the Subject Assignment Form to the Registrar’s office
for encoding and validation;
• Get Validated Class Schedule.
When and What are requirements so that I
can receive my benefits?
