WHAT IS ‘MEASUREMENT’?

It is the process of associating numbers with

physical quantities. Measurement is fundamental to
the sciences; to engineering, construction, and
other technical fields; and to almost all everyday
activities.

WHAT DO WE MEASURE?

When we observe things, there are several objects

we can measure:

Length: the distance between two points.

Mass / Weight: the amount of matter in an object.
Volume: the amount of space that something occupies.
Time: how long it takes for something to happen.
Temperature: the amount of heat energy in an object.
