GEOLOGY -MORRO

SOLAR
Location
  El Morro Solar is
located south of
the town of
Chorrillos in the
province of Lima.
The place of the
meeting was at
10:00 am. close to
the descent of
beaches.
A LITTLE HISTORY
Origin of the name:

 San Pedro de los Chorrillos

was the official name of this
district in reference to the
Chorrillos or jets of water
that come off the ravines
towards the side of the Agua
Dulce beach because it is a
fishing village whose patron
saint is San Pedro.
DEVELOPMENT OF PRACTICE
We start at approximately
10:00 am in Chorrillos,
starting with the
reconnaissance of the land.

First the observation of

the meshes of the green
coast.

The bad state that are

their meshes and the
irresponsible way of
their use.
AREA OF STUDY

The cliffs of the Costa Verde are located in the geomorphological unit
called cliffs, marine beaches and Miraflores Bay and Chorrillos. Where we
will make a tour.
Rocks
We started with a rock observation that
had the solar nose and find different
types of rocks.

Igneous rocks: They are formed by the

cooling and solidification of molten rock
matter, magma.

■  Sedimentary rocks: These are the
rocks that have been produced as a
consequence of alteration, transport
and sedimentation phenomena on any
type of previous rock.

■ Metamorphic rocks: It is the result of
the transformation of any other type
of rocks, igneous, sedimentary and
even metamorphic, through metamorphism
phenomena.
ROCKS FOUND
BASALT
■ Basalt is an extrusive igneous rock
and is the most common in the
earth's crust.

CONGLOMERATE
■ It is a sedimentary rock of
detrital type rounded gravel.
SLATE
■ Metamorphic rock, they are
smooth and of dark color
come from clays subjected
to strong pressures.

SANDSTONE
■ Sedimentary rock of
detrital type its
appearance is of a beach
sand whose grains are
sedimented.
Geologic Fault
■ Las fallas son fracturas en las cuales
el desplazamiento se desarrolla
principalmente por procesos de
deformación frágiles.
TIPOS DE FALLAS

■ Normal failure.
■ Reverse failure.
■ Vertical failure.
■ Tear failure.
VERTICAL DISPLACEMENT-FRACTURE
Andesitic Dam
■ Fallen in the
frigate jump
formation, you can
observe the failure
twice is a type of
stratification
failure.
PHENOMENON OF EROSION
■ Erosion is the degradation and transport of soil or
rock that produce different processes on the surface of
the Earth. Among these agents is the circulation of
water or ice, wind, or thermal changes.
■ Erosion involves movement, transport of material, in
contrast to the disintegration of rocks, a phenomenon
known as weathering and is one of the main factors of
the geographical cycle.
OBSERVATION

■ Here we can
observe the
disintegration of
the rocks.
■ This phenomenon
is called
weathering.
"PREVENTION OF GEOLOGICAL RISKS"
GEOLOGICAL MESH

■ With it they avoid

falling rocks and
affect cars.
■ Although here we
can see the poor
condition of these
meshes that need
urgent sanitation.
CONCLUSION

■    In this field trip we showed

that the lime soil is formed by
different strata formed by
different types of rock and
geological faults.
