Who we are
• The Teachers Centre of Ferrol is an in-service training
institution whose staff and funding depend from the regional
Educational Authorities (Consellería de Educación Xunta de
Galicia). The CFR of Ferrol serves approximately 2500
teachers in Primary, Secondary and Vocational schools, a
School of Languages and a School of Music. There are 103
schools within our catchment area.
• We also co-operate with the local authorities (Concello de
Ferrol) and parents associations that are responsible for
providing extra- curricular activities, school meals and special
support for socially disadvantaged students.
• Our main commitments are teacher training and school
advising.
We can offer
• Cooperation with 103 primary and secondary schools,
local authorities, social services, parents associations and
other public and private institutions.
• Some of our schools have an extensive experience in
coordinating European actions and projects. For example
the local School of Languages promoted a project,
International Patchwork, which received a special
mention as a Star Project by the Lifelong Learning
Programme.

What we do

• We visit Schools and we attend for schools,
teachers and local demands.
During the last two years our local education authorities have been
working on the development, implementation and evaluation of key
skills related to new educational curricula. We have been designing
educational courses teacher training Innovation seeking greater
educational success and promoting coexistence in schools.
Some of these courses are:
• The Cooperative Work (Cooperate Learning / Learning to
cooperate), the Learning Communities (inclusive school and
diversity), the socioeducational Integration, ICT as motivator, the
development of evaluation tools, the multiple intelligences,
mindfulness, content and language integrated learning (CLIL).
• Educational innovation serves as a bridge that brings together
children of different ages, races, genders and environments.
Teachers, parents increase motivation, improve student behaviour
and develop cross-curricular skills.
We are looking for

Partners interested in sharing experiences related to teacher


training, school organization and school innovation projects.
We would like to build common frameworks of best practice
and guidelines to work in these areas.
We currently offer training and
