INTRODUCTION
 Spinning is the process of producing yarn.
This can be divided into two groups i.e.,
Spinning

Ring spinning Open-end spinning

•Rotor Spinning
•Airjet Spinning
•Self twist spinning
•Friction Spinning etc.,
Electro static spinning
Delivery speed : Upto 40 m/min
Raw material : cotton
Count range : Ne 20-40
Form of feed stock : Roving
Type of yarn : conventional, singles yarn
Yarn characteristics : good yarn quality at low
production
Advantages : Yarn structure similar to
ring yarn for fine yarns
Special features : Yarn quality strongly
dependent upon ambient conditions
Elite Spinning
Economic Advantages of Processing
Elite Yarn
 reduced yarn twist by up to 10%, maintaining the
yarn strength of conventional ring yarns. This
increase yarn production.

 The ends down rate in spinning Elite yarns is

reduced by 30 to 60% which improves spinning
efficiency.

 With the same winding speed in Autoconer as with

conventional ring yarns, there are less raise in
imperfections in elite yarn because elite yarn have
a better resistance to shifting. This implies that
higher winding speed
 20% of the Twist can be reduced in the Twisting
Machines ( For double Yarn) for certain types of
yarn which implies Higher Productivity with Less
cost in Twisting machines.

 Owing to the lower hairiness and higher tenacity

of elite yarns, the ends down rate in beaming is
reduced up to 30%.

 It helps to save up to 50% of sizing agents, while

the running behavior of weaving machines is the
same or even better. Cost saving in sizing and de
sizing can amount up to US$ 0.55 per kg of yarn.

 In Dyeing Saving of dyestuff is possible by means

of reduced twist, favors the absorption of color
pigments and chemical finishing agents.
Eli-twist Compact Spinning
Air jet spinning

1.Sliver
2.Drafting rollers with
aprons.
3.First nozzle.
4.Second nozzle.
5.Material outlet from
the nozzles.
Principle
Air vortex spinning
 Delivery speed : 100 -150 m/min
 Raw material : Synthetic fibres 40-50mm
 Count range : Ne 7.5 – 30, 20-80 tex
 Form of feed stock : Drawframe sliver
 Type of yarn : conventional, singles yarn
 Yarn characteristics : Low strength, twist variability
rough surface
 Advantages : No rapidly rotating parts,
simple machine
 Special features : Cotton cannot be spun
Technical specifications

 First nozzle’s air angular velocity is one

million per minute.
 Second nozzle’s air velocity is twice than the
first nozzle.
 Count range up to 10 to 80 Ne.
 Delivery rate up to 300 mpm.
 Draft range is 40to 400.
Repco spinning
 Delivery speed : Upto 300 m/min
 Raw material : Wool and synthetic fibres
 Count range : Ne 9/2 - 45/2 , 13-65 Tex*2
 Form of feed stock : Roving
 Type of yarn : Two fold yarn
 Yarn characteristics : Full, round, twist variations
 Advantages : Low space ,low noise,
low energy
 Special features : Preparatory machines of the
mill are retained
FRICTION SPINNING

Principle
Suction drums are used
to introduce twist instead
of Rotor.

 Count range : Ne 0.18 – 5 ;120-3300Tex
 Form of feed stock : Card sliver
 Type of yarn : Normal OE yarn
 Yarn characteristics : Woollen spun character,
round even
 Advantages : Spinning of waste,elimination
of process stages
 Special features : Production of effect Yarn,
Recycling
 Field of use : Home textiles, Carpets,
Blankets ,technical products.

Technical specification
 Inlet speed rate - 0.85 to 8mpm
 Opening roller speed - 12,000rpm
 Front suction drum – 5,000rpm
 Back suction drum is rotating 9% less than that of the front
suction drum speed
 Delivery date – 200 to 300 mpm

Dref 5  6-40 Ne
Rotor spinning technology
Solo spinning

 Solospun technology provides the means to produce a

single yarn that can be successfully woven in the warp.

 It uses a simples attachment to the ring frame that

modifies the yarn structure

 This modification greatly increases the security of

fibres in yarn surface.
