Introduction
• Signals found uncontrolled due to low
volumes and cost of construction is
high
• At signal traffic merges and diverges so
most critical location for safety and
performance
• Safety at unsignalized intersection is
important for country like India
• T junction accounted highest number
of conflicts 32% accidents.
• Poddar arcade Surat intersection were
taken for analysis of crashes
Objective
• Analysis of traffic behaviour at unsignalized intersection with vehicle
classification
• Bifurcation of conflicts into critical and non critical based on PET
Processing and Extraction of data
• Video was Converted into readable
form .
• A grid were overlayed on the video
according to its size Ulead
software.
• Time of entering and exit of
vehicle were recorded
• PET=T2 –T1
Analysis of PET
• offending vehicle and conflicting
vehicle time were recorded by
avidemux software.
• Interaction between 2w-2w,2w-3w,2w-
car,2w-others interaction between all
individual vehicle were recorded.
• Front end for conflicting vehicle and
rear end for conflicting vehicle for
positive and negative time gap
respectively
• Probability At every 5 min data were
separated

• Morning peak 9:15 to 10:15 is having 3498 PCU/hr and


evening peak found is around 7:30 to 20:30 having 4327
Average hourly volume PCU/hr.
was found 3150 PCU/hr
