BIAS IN SPORT GENDER
INTRODUCTION
As we know , sport is an organized, competitive,
entertaining, and skillful activity requiring commitment,
strategy and fair play, in which a winner can be defined
by objective means. Beside, sport also important to
achive a good health and great mind. However why must
have a bias in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Pulau
Pinang . Male students do not give a chance for a female
students to use the sports entertainment . Bias in sport in
UiTM Pulau Pinang obviously shown when all the sport
facilities is conquered by male students, girls are not
allowed to play futsal, and exercise equipment is nearer
to the male students college .
PARAGRAPH ONE
During the Minggu Destini Siswa (MDS) we
have been told that female students are not
allowed to play futsal at futsal court. Why female
students are not allowed to play futsal ? Why
must this happens to us ? This is not fair for us as
we are UiTM students as well and we have the
same rights as male students . Why must have
bias in sport in UiTM Pulau Pinang ? As we know
sport is good for health as healthy body produce
great minds. Does this mean only male students
can get a healthy minds? We are really
disappointed when female students are not
allowed to play futsal, so most of our time we
spend in our room.
PARAGRAPH T WO
In addition, most of the sport facilities such as
futsal court, tennis court, exercise equipment is
entirely conquered by male students. As we can
see , it is obviously that all the facilities is
conquered by male students. So female students
do not have a chance to play and get some
exercises. Some of them said we used the
concept of first come first serve, but we think this
is not fair as normally female students feel shy
and uncomfortable to compete with male
students. As the result female students do not
have a chance to use the facilities .
PARAGRAPH THREE
Futhermore, sport equipment is nearer
to male students college such as tennis
court that is nearer to Baiduri college futsal
court and exercise equipment is nearer to
Zamrud college. This make female
students feel uncomfortable as the court
can be seen from Baiduri and Zamrud
college. Moreover, male students like to
watch female students play and this make
female students shy and end up with going
back to their room.
PARAGRAPH FOUR
Based on our complaints we would like
to suggest several suggestions. First,
separate futsal court into two one side for
female and one side for male students.
Next, make a timetable to use the court as
example Monday to Thursday for male
students, and the rest day for female
students. This is fair for all UiTM Pulau
Pinang students. Lastly why not we build
one gymnasium that separate male and
female students so female students will
feel comfortable to get some exercises
and get a healthy body.
CONCLUSION
As a conclusion, bias in sport in UiTM
Pulau Pinang is obviously shown when all
the sport facilities is conquered by male
students, girls are not allowed to play
futsal, and exercise equipment is nearer to
the male students college. Therefore we
do need a changes in order to get a
healthy body as healthy body produce
great minds.
