 What are rocks?

-Rocks are solid masses or an aggregate of minerals or mineraloid

matter. They make up the Earth’s crust, and they can be in different
colors, sizes, and shapes.
3 TYPES OF ROCKS

Sedimentary, Igneous, and Metamorphic

Sedimentary rocks are formed Sedimentary Rock
from organic and mineral
particles at the Earth’s surface,
or pre-existing rocks.
 Igneous Rock
From the Latin word ‘Ignis’
meaning ‘Fire’.
Igneous rocks form when lava
or magma cools down.
Rocks that start out as another type Metamorphic Rock
of rock, but changed due to high
heat, high pressure, or hot mineral-
rich fluids.
From greek words “meta” and
“morpho”, meaning “change” and
“form”.
